Display redo!

We've been at it again.........
Decorating that is. A customer had to return the book shelf because it was too big for the spot she had purchased it for and Melissa finished distressing the large cabinet a couple days ago so I took that as a reason for a display redo. Every time I change a display in the store it makes me want to go home and rearrange things. So needless to say things are always moving in my house. I hope everyone enjoys the pics and has a great weekend. I'm sure there will be more displays to change next week and I will also have a few new prim pieces to post next week.

Today's post is mostly pictures.
To everything there is a season.............
I love this wall hanging made by Robin, one of our consignors. I wish you could see the detail in her stitching and the tiny beads around the heart. The lap quilt is also made by Robin. Each one is always embroidered with inspirational words and they sell out every time. In fact I've already called to order more for the store. The rest of the pictures are of displays and groupings that I love around the store.The throw, high chair and old mold are favorites of mine. I hope everyone is having a great week and getting those projects done. I'm trying my best to get the x-stitch that I posted on my blog finished so I can start the one I just purchased from Jen of Taylors farmhouse attic.

The Country Home, Country Sampler, pictures, pictures and more pictures!

Just a quick post today that is mostly pictures.
The Country Home and the May issue of Country Sampler, both came in the mail today! What a treat! I have to tell you the article on Taylors Farmhouse Attic is awesome! She has such a beautiful home. And also, we got a few new pieces in the store yesterday and I couldn't wait to change out a couple displays. I hope you enjoy the pictures and have a safe and happy weekend: )

We've had a busy day here at the store but with a fresh set of batteries in the camera I was finally able to take a few more pictures of some of my favorite things. I think the salt glazed crocks speak for themselves, luv, luv them! I like the stacking boxes because you can hide a lot of clutter in them. It's hard to tell by the picture but the cabinet is sage green over white and a bit distressed, and again, I luv, luv this piece and firmly believe it needs to come home with me. I have the perfect spot for it. I love the old phone but man, have we ever came a long way. And yes, as you can see more crocks. What can I say, I'm loving the crocks right now, not sure what it is about the small preserves crock but I look at it every day. I like the jug because of the light brown color, it's very similar to the one I bought last week. The bunny/chick arrow replacement is simply cute, puts me in the mood for spring. Though I don't own any (yet) I love tins and scales of all types. So, I'm sure you can imagine that SOMETHING in this weeks posts will somehow follow me home. Be sure to check back, Linda and Melissa are going antiquing tomorrow and I've already given them my wish list.

Happy St. Patrick's day!

Today I thought I would post a few pictures of some of my favorite displays. I love this front table grouping with the new gathered swags. The old shelf is full of antique tins, slicers, cutting boards, rolling pins and jars full of cookie cutters and potpourri. I really love the americana box that Melissa decorated. And last but certainly not least a table top full of prim items. I was working on some shots of some of my favorite things here in the store that I hope follow me home someday but the batteries in the camera died so I'll have to finish those tomorrow. So be sure to check back for more eye candy.

Another great saturday!

We're having another great saturday here at Country Comes To Town! Thanks to all our weekend regulars. I also wanted to post a couple pictures of a few new groupings I worked on this morning. Check back next week to see the two piece hutch Melissa is giving a prim makeover. I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend: )

A Simple Life arrived in the mail today. Perfect reading on a rainy day like today. The articles are great and loaded with pictures. This issue definately puts me in the mood for a road trip.

We had an awesome Spring open house!!

We just want to say thank you to all of our customers who made our spring open house a huge success. Just a couple pictures today, one is of a cabinet that came in this past weekend. The other picture is of one of our many prim kitchen groupings. We have 6000 sq feet loaded with antiques and prims so keep checking back with us for more pictures.

New prim cabinet and coverlets just arrived at the store

This is a great primitive cabinet that Linda picked up on one of her antiquing trips. It's great for displaying the new coverlet that just arrived but it would also look great loaded with old crocks.

Our Spring open house is Saturday, March 6, 2010

I know it's hard to think about a spring open house with the cold temps and snow flakes we've been having but the weather channel promises temps in the 60's. We've been so ready for spring here at the store that I'm pretty sure we had our spring decor out before Valentine's day had come and went.
